Nurturing Expectant Mums
“Traditional societies have typically regarded pregnancy as a sacred period in a woman’s life – a time when the pregnant woman must be treated with special care and reverence by the other members of her society. As the carrier of new life, she embodies the miracle of creation in her very being…”
~ Ina May Gaskin
The typical pregnancy in western culture places more emphasis on the baby than the woman. The entire experience has turned into preparing for the baby’s arrival rather than the emotional journey that comes with creating a new life. The sacredness of pregnancy and birth, as a rite of passage and a spiritual journey, has been forgotten in modern society
Health Benefits Of Pregnancy Massage & Reflexology
While pregnant, pregnant women can benefit from pregnancy massage and reflexology to help them feel more loving towards their bodies. Especially since their body is putting in a ton of effort to grow a baby inside them. Each session I hold space for a mum to be, allowing her to deeply relax and reconnect with herself. Identifying and addressing any hidden anxieties as well as any physical symptoms. Creating this space allows you to relax and unwind, allowing you to release any tensions. Sometimes it is just physical discomfort, but sometimes it is emotional holding that causes tension. It is vital to the healing process to talk out your concerns and be listened to. By bringing this level of release to a mother’s awareness, she can make a smooth transition into motherhood.
We recognize that every pregnancy is different, each woman is unique, so you will never experience a ‘one-size fits all’ session. A range of pillows and cushions will be provided to help you feel as comfortable as possible while lying on your side.

"Tania is absolutely magical! I was struggling to speak, after the treatment, as I was so blissed out. She soothed the aches in my lower back and hips and held space for me to completely relax. As always, will recommend to friends, clients and anyone who will listen.." ~ Ali Russell-Webb
Relaxing and balancing pregnancy hormones can be achieved with reflexology. Offering you an ideal opportunity to connect with your baby and to feel nurtured and pampered prior to giving birth, calming and soothing any anxieties and stress that may be present.
Studies have shown that women who receive regular reflexology treatments during pregnancy have shorter labour and require less pain relief, which enables an easier birth with fewer complications.
"Tania is amazing. I had a wonderful relaxing treatment with her yesterday. Last night I slept so well, and today woke without my usual feeling of not enough sleep. I highly recommend regular treatment with Tania and have already booked in again." ~ Phillipa Wilmot, Alverstoke Chiropractor
In the event that your baby appears to be too comfortable, enjoy a blissful session of reflexology to create a deep state of relaxation, which can often result in the spontaneous onset of labour. It is proven that reflexology can relax the mother-to-be and enable her to be in the most relaxed state of mind, making her and her unborn child feel safe, nurtured and ready for birth. Your body will also be balanced and rested after the session, enabling you to give birth in the best possible conditions
